European Live Translator Short Name: ELITR Name: European Live Translator Coordinator: Ondřej Bojar, Charles University Consortium: Charles University, University of Edinburgh, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, perVoice, alfatraining, Supreme Audit Office of the Czech Republic Project Runtime: January 2019 – December 2021 Funded by: European Commission https://elitr.eu/ The ELITR project focuses on multi-lingual text and speech translation and on meeting summarization. For speech translation, we aim to bring advances to the standard components of automatic speech recognition (ASR) and machine translation (MT) as well as to joint, end-to-end, processing (spoken language translation, SLT). For multilinguality, we are testing our systems in a scenario which requires us to follow six source languages and produce translations in 43 target ones, live. In the speech summarization area (automatic creation of meeting minutes), we want to lay foundations for future research by defining the task exactly and running it as a shared task during 2021.
