In today’s globalised world, language barriers hinder interlingual communication and the free flow of knowledge and information. Language technologies, especially multilingual ones, can help to overcome language barriers and make significant improvements in trade, administration, politics, communication and intercultural understanding. The European Language Grid project is developing and implementing a scalable cloud platform that provides easy-to-integrate access to hundreds of commercial and free language technologies for all European languages. The European Language Grid (ELG) platform is the fastest growing platform for sharing and disseminating language resources, language processing programs and language technology services. In just a few months, the language resources and technologies shared on the platform have grown to over 2,000.
